Be mindful of melanoma mimics
Due to the chaotic behaviour of the tissue, melanomas can resemble benign lesions

The presentation of melanoma can break the clinical pattern of other lesions at the same anatomical location by virtue of its size, shape or colour.
However, because the chaotic behaviour of malignant tissue is unpredictable, melanoma can also mimic other lesions.
